#Roommates, if you’ve ever wanted to get a college degree in either the technology or business field, then you might want to get a job at Chipotle first. The company is reportedly covering the tuition of all their employees who want to get degrees in the two selected areas.

Sadly, many people decide against going to college because they simply can’t afford it—and the thought of owing Sally Mae for almost the rest of their life is definitely not a flattering option. Well, popular Mexican Grill restaurant Chipotle is aiming to do something about that. According to @CNN, Chipotle has committed to paying the tuition of employees who want to get degrees in either technology or business at certain colleges.

The commitment is part of a new program that begins on November 15th and it’s the company’s latest effort to attract and retain talent in the highly competitive labor market. The process works like this, employees who have been at Chipotle for at least 120 days and work a minimum of 15 hours per week can choose from 75 different degree programs at five schools Those schools are: the University of Arizona, Bellevue University, Brandman University, Wilmington University and Southern New Hampshire University.

However, tuition will only be covered if employees remain at the company and stay at least six months after they earn their degrees. The company also currently offers up to $5,250 a year in tuition reimbursement in addition to other education assistance programs.

Marissa Andrada, Chief People officer for Chipotle, said this regarding the new program:

“The debt-free degree program is a way for Chipotle to show current employees that they are committed to helping with their personal and professional development. For young people to have the ability to afford an education — what a great way to attract new talent.”

There are about to be a lot of applications filled out to work for Chipotle. Congrats to them for doing something great!

Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
