Beyonc performed at the CMA’s Wednesday night and a lot of country fans were not here for it. Upset CMA fans took it upon themselves to make racial comments regarding Bey’s performance with the Dixie Chicks all over the productions social media.
Unike posts they made for other performances and highlights of the show, Beyonc fans realized that there was no trace or mention of Beyonc or her performance on any of the CMA’s social media outlets, and therefore assumed they were deleted as a way to stop the racist comments.
The BeyHive attacked the CMA’s for allegedly deleting any and all traces of Beyonc’s performance along side the Dixie Chicks, and if you’re familiar with Bey’s fans, then you know they go ham to the point where the CMA had to issue a response.
According to the CMA, nothing was deleted, and it was Beyonc’s request for them to remove a 5 second promo clip prior to the start of the show. They said the following in a statement to People:
CMA has not erased any mentions of Beyoncs performance on the CMA Awards. In advance of the broadcast, CMA removed a 5-second promotional clip fromABC.comand CMAs Facebook page…The promo was unapproved and CMA removed it prior to the broadcast.Beyoncs performance with Dixie Chicks was a highlight of the evening and we are continuing to share the amazing full-length performance clip via our official social channels.”
CMA chief executive Sarah Trahern, told the New York Timesthat the clip ofBeyonc was removed on Wednesday before the performance at the request of the singer.
Beyoncs team hadnt approved that, so we pulled it down,” she said. “Fans can get kind of passionate and read other things into it.
