A U.S. Coast guard crew without a doubt made one of the biggest drug busts on water ever!
The crew discovered the submarine in Alameda California and stopped the vessel only to find more than 16,000 pounds of cocaine last month valued at $181 million wholesale!
The submarine was first detected by a U.S. Navy patrol aircraft more than 200 miles south of Mexico before being detained in California.
The four smugglers were apprehended and taken into custody.
While the crew was removing the cocaine, they successfully took out 12,000 pounds while 4,000 pounds of cocaine sunk to the bottom of the ocean floor with the submarine.
The coast guard crew were no strangers to drug busts. They have intercepted 15 different drug smuggling attempts and more than 33,000 pounds of cocaine worth $540 million since May 2015! Damn!
