<p>A 14-year-old&#8217;s life was tragically cut short after being struck by a <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/black-family-awarded-8-25-million-after-being-singled-out-for-their-race-in-arrest-for-suspicion-of-car-theft/?_gl=1*f0e3rf*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTY1MDk4OTY1Ni4xNjc4ODI1NTM5*_ga_V2HX8YP3XL*MTY3ODgzMTUzMS4yLjEuMTY3ODgzMTU0Ny4wLjAuMA.." target="_blank" rel="noopener">car</a> while riding a stolen horse down a Dallas freeway, and two other teens are being treated for injuries.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">A Car Crashed Into The Horses As They Galloped Down The Freeway</h3>
<p>According to a statement from the <a href="https://dpdbeat.com/2023/03/14/dallas-police-investigate-crash-at-great-trinity-forest-and-julius-schepps-freeway/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Dallas Police Department</a>, the incident unfolded at around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, and an investigation revealed that all three of the teens—aged 14, 16, and 17—were riding stolen horses.</p>
<p>During the unconventional joyride, a car wound up hitting the riders on Great Trinity Forest Way near Interstate 45 (aka Julius Schepps Freeway). The youngest teen sadly did not survive.</p>
<p>Additionally, one of the horses was killed at the scene, while another had to be euthanized by a veterinarian. The third horse is expected to survive its injuries, though.</p>
<p>As for the two surviving teenage riders, they&#8217;re noted to be receiving treatment at a local hospital and &#8220;remain in stable condition.&#8221;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">The Driver Isn&#8217;t Expected To Face Charges</h3>
<p>Although there&#8217;s an ongoing investigation into the ordeal, authorities noted that &#8220;no charges are expected for the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash.&#8221;</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://people.com/human-interest/teenager-two-horses-dead-car-crashes-three-people-riding-stolen-horses-texas-freeway/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>People</em></a>, authorities pointed out that—although &#8220;preliminary information [suggested] the involved driver left the scene&#8221;—the motorist &#8220;did not leave and stayed at the location.&#8221;</p>
<p>We should also note that, although the horses in this case were stolen, it&#8217;s perfectly <a href="https://www.kristv.com/news/local-news/2018/09/21/traveling-by-horseback-in-the-city-is-it-legal/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">legal</a> to ride equines on the road in most states, and it became somewhat of a trend last year in response to soaring gas prices, <a href="https://abc13.com/dallas-horse-riders-high-gas-prices-inflation-texas/11655970/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>ABC13</em></a> reports.</p>
