<p>According to <a href="https://www.etonline.com/keke-palmers-boyfriend-darius-jackson-opens-up-about-their-romance-and-feeling-overwhelmed-at-times" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Tonight</a>, the podcast episode was recorded before his public criticism.</p>

<p>During the episode, published on Tuesday, Jackson candidly shared his feelings about his once-private relationship with Palmer. According to <a href="https://www.etonline.com/keke-palmers-boyfriend-darius-jackson-opens-up-about-their-romance-and-feeling-overwhelmed-at-times" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Entertainment Tonight</a>, he spoke about how &#8220;overwhelming&#8221; it was for him when their relationship went public.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;At first, it definitely was hard because it could all be very overwhelming. It was definitely overwhelming and intense at first.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Palmer agreed.</p>
<p>Additionally, Jackson went on to explain that he felt the &#8220;pressure of being perfect&#8221; for himself and his girlfriend.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;And it&#8217;s like, you almost feel that pressure of needing to be perfect. And so, it really confused me and infiltrated my mind because not only did I have to hold myself to that perfect standard, I was also holding you to a perfect standard as well&#8230;&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Jackson continued by explaining that &#8220;any moment of flaw&#8221; on his &#8220;side&#8221; or Palmer&#8217;s would &#8220;lead to World War III.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;So, any moment of flaw on my side or on your side would lead to World War III because it&#8217;s like, man, now the world sees us.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Keke Palmer Agreed That There Is &#8220;A Lot Of Pressure&#8221; Now That They&#8217;re A Public Couple&#8221;</h3>
<p>As the conversation continued, Palmer agreed and acknowledged that &#8220;a lot of pressure&#8221; exists on their relationship.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a lot of pressure because here&#8217;s the thing, we&#8217;re public now, and there are things we want to share&#8230; but at the same time, we do want to be able to maintain the privacy of our relationship&#8230;&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>As <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/darius-daulton-keke-palmer-cheeky-outfit-usher/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Shade Room</a> previously reported, Darius Daulton Jackson most recently called Palmer out for the attire she wore to an Usher concert in Las Vegas.</p>
<p>At the time, Palmer sported a lace dress that flaunted her curves and prompted Jackson to criticize her by tweeting of video of her at the concert with a brief message.</p>

The 29-year-old encouraged other &#8220;new moms&#8221; to &#8220;do you&#8221; despite the negative feedback they may receive.</p>
