It looks like former NBA player and former New York Knicks coach Derek Fisher was able to get out of making his alimony and child support payments.
According to Bossip, Fisher filed paperwork over the summer asking the judge who officiated his divorce to stop his ongoing monthly payments of $109,000 in alimony and $15,000 in child support because he is no longer on the coaching staff for the New York Knicks.
Fisher was hired to coach the team back in 2014 and was fired in February of 2016, but the severance from the job reportedly ended in June of this year.
According to the documents obtained by Bossip, Fisher’s ex Candice agreed and under the terms of the deal, that as of July 1st, Fisher no longer had to pay child support or alimony.
However, once a month, lawyers from both sides will have to discuss if there are any prospective jobs in the works for their clients and if their alimony and child support deal would need any further modification.
Fisher was reportedly making payments for about a year before filing to have his payments modified.
The former couple share 11-year-old twins, and since their split Fisher has been dating Gloria Govan, the ex-wife to one of his former teammates.
