<p>The U.S. Open has been attracting many celebrities as they watch Serena Williams compete, in what is to be her last tennis tournament. However, there has been a lot of action taking place in the stands, as well as on the tennis court.</p>
<p>Wednesday night, legendary singer Dionne Warwick was spotted in the crowd during Serena&#8217;s match. However, the TV announcers that narrated during the match mistook her for another legendary singer&#8230;Gladys Knight.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2022/09/01/us-open-tennis-announcers-misidentify-dionne-warwick-gladys-knight-serena-williams/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a></em>, the announcers that were responsible for the mix-up were Mary Carillo and Chanda Rubin.</p>

<p>On Thursday, Dionne had a little fun with her response to the situation, as she used the song titles of Gladys&#8217; classic hit &#8220;<em>Mignight Train to Georgia</em>,&#8221; and her classic hits &#8220;<em>Walk On By</em>,&#8221; and as well as Aretha Franklin&#8217;s &#8220;<em>I Say A Little Prayer</em>.&#8221;</p>
<p>Dionne tweeted, &#8220;Hi, I’m Gladys Knight… and instead of taking that midnight train to Georgia, I won’t walk on by but will say a little prayer for you.&#8221;</p>

<p>In a statement to TMZ, reps for Gladys Knight released a statement as she said,</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Dionne and I have been sisters for a long time and I hope she is as honored to be mistaken for me as I would be her. I’m sure it was an honest mistake. It was a blessing to be in the house to see Serena’s greatness.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>This isn&#8217;t the first time a mistaken identity has happened since the U.S. Open has began.</p>
<p>As <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/laverne-cox-reacts-after-being-mistaken-for-beyonce-while-at-the-u-s-open/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously</a></em> reported, earlier this week, some fans thought actress Laverne Cox was Beyoncé as she cheered for Serena Williams while in the audience.</p>
