<p>Salt-N-Pepa are the latest hip-hop legends to have their story told within a biopic and with their Lifetime film premiering on Saturday, DJ Spinderella let it be known that she is not here for her being excluded from the film. She made sure to let fans know that she was not okay with being left out of the development and production process for the film.</p>
<p>On Friday, Spinderella released a statement and <em><a href="https://twitter.com/Spindeezy/status/1352702867438764032?s=20">said</a></em>, &#8220;Sorry but I gotta speak on this Lifetime special.., Too often, Black women who have made meaningful contributions in their industry are left out of historical narratives. Back when Salt n’ Pepa was building our legacy, which is rooted in empowering women, I could not have dreamed that this same group would one day disempower me.&#8221;</p>
<p>She continued, &#8220;Words cannot fully express my disappointment when I learned a decision was made to move forward with a Lifetime biopic that wrongfully excluded me from every aspect of development and production. All the while using my image throughout, given that I played an integral role in the group&#8217;s story and success.&#8221;</p>
<p>Nonetheless, she congratulated the women who are portrayed her, Salt and Pepa in the film, and concluded that she is almost finished with her memoir.</p>

<p>As <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/whew-spinderella-is-reportedly-suing-salt-n-pepa-claiming-they-owe-her-millions/">previously</a></em> reported, Spinderella fell out with her former group members awhile ago, and back in 2019 she actually sued them after she alleged that she was owed money from different occasions. <em><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2021/01/22/spinderella-trashes-salt-n-pepa-lifetime-biopic-removing-her/">TMZ</a></em> reports that a few months after the lawsuit was filed, Spinderella&#8217;s attorney revealed it was dismissed with prejudice after a confidential settlement was reached.</p>
