<p>There has been a lot going on in Kenosha, Wisconsin following the recent shooting of <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/protests-erupt-the-governor-of-wisconsin-speaks-out-after-jacob-blake-is-shot-several-times-by-police-ben-crump-confirms-that-the-victim-is-alive/">Jacob Blake</a></em>. That’s why, when it was announced that Donald Trump would be making a visit, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers wrote a letter asking him to reconsider making his visit as the city continues to deal with the racial unjust.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/30/politics/wisconsin-governor-letter-trump-kenosha-jacob-blake/">CNN</a></em>, in the letter, Evers said, “I am concerned your presence will only hinder our healing. I am concerned your presence will only delay our work to overcome division and move forward together. It is our job as elected officials to lead by example and to be a calming presence for the people we know are hurting, mourning, and trying to cope with trauma. Now is not the time for divisiveness. Now is not the time for elected officials to ignore armed militants and out-of-state instigators who want to contribute to our anguish.”</p>
<p>However, despite his plea for Trump to stay away, White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere released a statement on Sunday and said that Trump is still planning to make his visit.</p>
<p>In the statement, he said, “The White House has been humbled by the outreach of individuals from Kenosha who have welcomed the President&#8217;s visit and are longing for leadership to support local law enforcement and businesses that have been vandalized. President Trump looks forward to visiting on Tuesday and helping this great city heal and rebuild.”</p>
<p>Prior to Governor Evers releasing his letter, the White House announced that Trump would travel to Kenosha to meet with law enforcement and to survey some of the damage from the recent protests.</p>
<p>Protests erupted after an officer shot Jacob Blake in his back nearly 7 times.</p>
<p>Things escalated a few days later when a 17-year-old thug named Kyle Rittenhouse killed two protesters and injured another one.</p>
<p>Governor Evers also said to Trump in his letter that he is &#8220;concerned that an in-person visit from you will require a massive re-direction of these resources to support your visit at a time when it is critical that we continue to remain focused on keeping the people of Kenosha safe and supporting the community&#8217;s response.&#8221;</p>
