Last night, one of Drake’s associates was playing his songs, in addition to Future’s. He was running through their catalogue and pretty much admiring their music.
While celebrating the two rappers, an old song from three years ago was leaked and some folks were side-eyeing Drake.
In the song, he mentions Kylie Jenner and refers to her as a side piece. As the beat plays, he raps, “Kylie Jenner as a side-piece,” and Future comes on with the hook.
The powers-that-be must’ve hit his line real quick because Drake took to Instagram to address the issue. if you know Drake, he just usually addresses allegations and controversies in his songs.
He wrote, “A song that Mark ran last night on night owl sound live set shouldn’t have been played,” he expressed. “It’s a song that leaked 3 years ago and got scrapped shortly after,” he added. The father of one continued, “He was just going too deep in the Drake/Future catalogue. Last thing I’d want to do is wake up having any friends of mine feeling disrespected.” In closing he stated, “I just had to say that to start off the day.”
Drake is no stranger to controversial lyrics. Just a few months ago, he rapped, “Baby mama fluke, but I love her for who she is,” on his song ‘When To Say When’.” So, it’s kind of understood why fans gave him the side-eye, when they heard this lyric.Â
