Drake Sued For Allegedly Stealing The Beats For His Hit Singles “Nice For What” And “In My Feelings”

Although he may have just racked up another number one album on the Billboard charts, Drake has also earned another lawsuit for allegedly stealing the beats for two of his biggest hits.

As reported by @tmz_tv, Drizzy is in some serious legal hot water that could end up costing him millions. Drake and New Orleans bounce artist Big Freedia, who featured on “In My Feelings,” are both being sued by Samuel Nicholas III aka Sam Skully because he claims the song is a blatant rip off of one of his beats. He additionally alleges that Drake also did the same thing and stole his beat that eventually became “Nice For What.”

Court documents reportedly state that Skully claims Drake and Big Freedia sampled a portion of his 2000 track, “Roll Call,” but they never asked for his permission to use it—and also never paid him for the sample.

Skully goes on to allege that he published his beat on a CD he released in New Orleans back in 2000, however he says he didn’t realize his music had been stolen by Drake until years later when the songs started climbing the charts.

Skully has included several record labels in his lawsuit, specifically Cash Money Records, Asylum Records and Republic Records—and he’s suing for damages.

At press time, Drake has not publicly responded to the lawsuit.
