<p>It looks like the drama series “Bel-Air,” which is based on the 90’s sitcom “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” will be coming to the streaming service Peacock really soon.</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/fresh-prince-of-bel-air-drama-reboot-lands-at-peacock-with-two-season-order">The Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, the streaming service Peacock, which is owned by NBC-Universal, won the bidding war for the drama series and placed in a two-season order.</p>
<p>As we <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/drama-series-based-on-the-fresh-prince-of-bel-air-currently-in-the-works-from-morgan-cooper-westbrook-studios/">previously</a></em> reported, Will Smith &; Jada Pinkett Smith’s Westbrook Studios and Universal TV own the rights to the original “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” and will serve as the studio for the project. While Morgan Cooper will direct and co-executive produce.</p>
<p>Will Smith made the special announcement about the show being picked up by Peacock on his official YouTube Channel. He was joined by Morgan Cooper and the showrunner Chris Collins and said, “We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch. I’ve been in this business for 30 years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of ‘Bel-Air’ based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”</p>
<p>Morgan Cooper first released the trailer back in 2019 and it instantly went viral.</p>
<p>The synopsis for the show is a modern and dramatic take on the original series which starred Will Smith. However, this series, “will dive deeper into the inherent conflicts, emotions, and biases that were impossible to fully explore in a 30-minute sitcom format, while still delivering swagger and fun nods to the original show.”</p>
