<p>Roommates, during her just released cover story of ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine, Saweetie opened up about her life and career, specifically allegedly suffering from PTSD after a disastrous interview with legendary NYC hip hop station Hot 97. <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/saweetie-recalls-having-ptsd-after-her-2018-hot-97-interview-talks-about-how-her-career-has-grown-since/">Ebro Darden</a>, the station’s most prominent figure, hopped on social media and seemingly clapped back at Saweetie’s claims that the experience on his show left her emotionally scarred.</p>
<p>As we previously reported, in the latest issue of ‘Cosmopolitan’ magazine, Saweetie got real regarding a <a href="https://www.hotnewhiphop.com/ebro-accused-of-shading-saweetie-over-ptsd-claim-news.128935.html">failed freestyle attempt</a> when she visited popular hip hop radio station Hot 97 back in 2018. She explained how the experience severely impacted her and led her to a dark place.</p>
<p>“It was a really dark point in my life. I went from being so loved so quickly because of ‘Icy Grl’ to, on my first promo run, well, you saw the interview. The script flipped really quick, like night and day. I was like, <em>Wait</em>…” I had PTSD from that. I’m really grateful for my start because the mistakes, the struggle, the grind—it allows me to appreciate the rewards that come now because I know what it feels like to sleep in motels, to drive and do promo, to be stressed out,” Saweetie said.</p>
<p>A little after the interview dropped, Ebro Darden threw a few subliminals when he seemingly responded to Saweetie’s comments with a few tweets, writing:</p>
<p><em>“Don’t confuse success in the music business with being good at making music.”</em></p>
<p>When a fan asked him if he planned to change the format of what’s played at Hot 97, Ebro tweeted “No we just play fast food music &#8230; we know what most people want stop it.”</p>

<p>After being dragged on social media for being labeled a misogynist, Ebro posted a few more tweets to clear things up. “Whoa. Whoa. Never she’s a sweetie&#8230; stop that. Nice person and some good records too. I hate when that happens. Im just tweeting listening to music and having discussions, then boom! My tweet is aligned with some other bulls**t I ain’t even know happened. Damn.”</p>
<p>However, many didn’t buy his explanation and further accused him of shading Saweetie and then attempting to backpedal.</p>
