Ebro Seemingly Claps Back Following Saweetie’s Claims She Suffered From PTSD After Hot 97 Interview—“Don’t Confuse Success In The Music Business With Being Good At Making Music”

Roommates, during her just released cover story of Cosmopolitan magazine, Saweetie opened up about her life and career, specifically allegedly suffering from PTSD after a disastrous interview with legendary NYC hip hop station Hot 97. Ebro Darden, the stations most prominent figure, hopped on social media and seemingly clapped back at Saweeties claims that the experience on his show left her emotionally scarred.

As we previously reported, in the latest issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Saweetie got real regarding a failed freestyle attempt when she visited popular hip hop radio station Hot 97 back in 2018. She explained how the experience severely impacted her and led her to a dark place.

It was a really dark point in my life. I went from being so loved so quickly because of Icy Grl to, on my first promo run, well, you saw the interview. The script flipped really quick, like night and day. I was like,Wait I had PTSD from that. Im really grateful for my start because the mistakes, the struggle, the grindit allows me to appreciate the rewards that come now because I know what it feels like to sleep in motels, to drive and do promo, to be stressed out, Saweetie said.

A little after the interview dropped, Ebro Darden threw a few subliminals when he seemingly responded to Saweeties comments with a few tweets, writing:

Dont confuse success in the music business with being good at making music.

When a fan asked him if he planned to change the format of whats played at Hot 97, Ebro tweeted No we just play fast food music … we know what most people want stop it.

After being dragged on social media for being labeled a misogynist, Ebro posted a few more tweets to clear things up. Whoa. Whoa. Never shes a sweetie… stop that. Nice person and some good records too. I hate when that happens. Im just tweeting listening to music and having discussions, then boom! My tweet is aligned with some other bulls**t I aint even know happened. Damn.

However, many didnt buy his explanation and further accused him of shading Saweetie and then attempting to backpedal.
