<p>Singer <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/el-debarge-performs-his-throwback-hits-on-instagram-live/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">El DeBarge</a> was reportedly arrested for drug and weapon possession, as reported by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/10/el-debarge-arrested-possession-weapon-drugs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a>. According to the outlet, the 61-year-old allegedly had a run-in with authorities at a gas station early Sunday morning.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Cops Arrested El DeBarge Around 3:40 A.M. Sunday Morning</h3>
<p>According to the Burbank Police Department, authorities arrested the 61-year-old early Sunday morning. They add that the singer wasn&#8217;t pulled over because he was already stopped at a gas station.</p>
<p>The officers noticed that his vehicle had expired tags. And say that when they approached the vehicle, they noticed an &#8220;expandable metal baton in plain sight.&#8221;</p>
<p>The baton is considered an illegal weapon, which prompted the officers to further search the vehicle. Then, they allegedly found pepper spray and &#8220;suspected narcotics.&#8221;</p>
<p>Authorities also learned that DeBarge did not possess a valid driver&#8217;s license.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">El DeBarge Was Booked On Multiple Charges</h3>
<p>According to the outlet, the 61-year-old was arrested and booked on multiple charges. The charges include &#8220;possession of a leaded cane or baton, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/10/el-debarge-arrested-possession-weapon-drugs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a> added that authorities believe the &#8220;suspected&#8221; narcotic is heroin.</p>
<p>The outlet reported that DeBarge posted his $25,000 bail. And is due back in court in March.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">The Singer Was Previously Arrested In 2018</h3>
<p>This incident is not DeBarge&#8217;s first run-in with the law. In 2018, the singer was arrested for using a wrench to wreck a man&#8217;s windshield. According to <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2018/07/17/el-debarge-arrested-felony-vandalism-wrench-attack/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a>, DeBarge got into a heated argument in San Fernando Valley. And chased a man out of a house.</p>
<p>When the man retreated to a nearby RV, DeBarge followed him with a wrench. And smashed it into the vehicle&#8217;s windshield.</p>
<p>The singer was then arrested for felony vandalism. And spent a night in jail before posting his $20,000 bail.</p>
