<p>Rapper Famous Dex reportedly pulled a gun out on concert goers after a cancelled show at the University of California, Irvine on Friday night.</p>
<p>According to <a href="http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-uci-concert-stampede-20181020-story.html">The Los Angeles Times</a>, Dex leaped into the crowd and it caused a stampede of students to the stage at the annual Shocktoberfest concert. In response, security turned on the lights and cancelled the show. “University police on site declared it was a dangerous situation,” campus spokesman Tom Vasich said, “so they turned on the lights and canceled the rest of the show.”</p>
<p>Shortly after, a man who appeared to be Dex was seen waving a gun at a group of students who surrounded his car. In response, the campus police tweeted out a warning for a “male 25 yr 5&#8217;11 seen inside… with a gun.” Twitter user <a href="https://twitter.com/nicoleelunaaa/status/1053592860711247873">@nicoleelunaaa</a> caught the incident on camera.</p>

<p>YG was scheduled to headline the show. “Show canceled. Wack a** f*ck,” he tweeted.</p>
<p>Associated Students of UCI issued a statement addressing the pandemonium. “We are looking into the situation from all aspects to see if a partial refund could be granted,” said Dilraj Toor, student service vice president. “Our mid-liner, Famous Dex,” she said, “presented us with challenges that escalated out of our control.”</p>

<p>I would like to begin by saying thank you for your continued support of ASUCI and all the events we host for students. We plan these with a main goal of ensuring our Anteaters have a college experience that is memorable and filled with something more than just classes, midterms, and finals.</p>
<p>Regarding the events that unfolded last night, I would like to sincerely apologize. We had to make the decision to shut down the show due to numerous safety hazards. Our midliner, Famous Dex, presented us with challenges that escalated out of our control. We do the best we can to prepare for situations such as this, but with students rushing the floor and creating a dangerous environment, we had no other option. The main goal of ours is, yes, to ensure students have fun, but that does not outweigh the safety of the students. That is, and will always be, the highest of our concerns, and when we felt the safety was compromised last night, we had to end the show.</p>
<p>To all the students who did everything they were supposed to do, who stayed in the stands, who helped their fellow Anteaters, who made a point to make sure everyone around them was safe, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I see all of you for doing what is right, recognize that it is unfair, and I apologize. Because of students like you, we were able to minimize the danger to other students as well as any injury.</p>
<p>We recognize all that went wrong and, as always, are cognizant. We are not going to take this matter lightly, and will work to make things better.</p>
<p>Lastly, at this time, we are looking into the situation from all aspects to see if a partial refund could be granted.</p>
<p>I would like to apologize to everyone for the adverse affects this has caused from the bottom of my heart.</p>
