Ferguson Heats Up Again: Two Police Officers Shot After Chief Tom Jackson Resigns

On Wednesday night, groups of protestors gathered in Ferguson after it was announced that Chief Tom Jackson had resgined. The tension came from the fact that the Justice Department had just announced on March 4th that they had determined there was in fact a racial bias in policing in the St. Louis suburb area.

Police Officers claim things got heated between them and the protestors. However, witnesses who were at the scene say that the shooters were not protestors at all. Two Officers were shot, one was shot in the face and the other officer was shot in the shoulder. The officers are hospitalized and were said to be conscious. The hospital has yet to release updates on their condition.

We aren’t quite sure why things popped off the way that they did in Ferguson. Videos that surfaced on social media show some groups of people fighting amongst themselves. You can see the tension rising in the videos but we aren’t sure why the officers were shot.
