Robert Allen, the final defendant involved in the 2018 murder of rapper XXXTentacion, received his sentencing Wednesday. According to NBC Miami, Allen was sentenced to seven years in prison with credit for time served.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Allen’s codefendants were sentenced to life in prison for the rapper’s murder in April.

The Sentencing Of XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Robert Allen

According to the outlet, Broward Judge Michael Usan sentenced Allen to seven years in prison with credit for time served. Allen has reportedly spent almost five years incarcerated since his arrest for the murder of XXXTentacion.

Additionally, it is reported that Allen will serve 20 years on probation following his release from prison.

During a court hearing on Wednesday, Judge Usan expressed his genuine belief in Allen’s “remorse” for his role in the killing of XXXTentacion.

“I genuinely believe that you are sorry for what you’ve done and not merely sorry for yourself and I think the remorse that you’ve shown is genuine.”

Allen apologized to the family and friends of XXXTentacion during his sentencing.

“To say I’m sorry does not even begin the true inner remorse I want to make known. I know that these words that I will speak will never erase the pain and sorrow and loss of what the family will have from now on. There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about what happened and beg for forgiveness from God.”

Furthermore, Allen’s lawyer, Jim Lewis, also offered his thoughts on his client’s sentencing.

“The crime was horrible but he did what he could to try and make it right and I think the court saw that and saw real remorse and is giving him at least an opportunity to show that he’s learned from this and never do anything like this again.”

Robert Allen’s Testimony And Its Impact On The Sentencing Of His Codefendants

As The Shade Room previously reported, Allen was one of four suspects involved in the robbery and fatal shooting of rapper XXXTentacion on June 18, 2018.

Allen reportedly sat in the backseat of a car while his codefendants Trayvon Newsome and Michael Boatwright ambushed the rapper as he was trying to leave Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Codefendant Dedrick Williams was reportedly the driver of the vehicle.

According to NBC Miami, Allen pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm in August 2022. Then additionally offered to testify against his codefendants on behalf of the state and prosecution.

At the time, Allen’s attorney further explained his alleged involvement in the crime.

“Mr. Allen’s role in this, it was much less than the other three. More of an accessory after the fact than really part of the planning. Certainly, he never got out of the car, never had a gun, never shot anybody.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, Trayvon Newsome, Michael Boatwright, and Dedrick Williams were found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery of XXXTentacion. Furthermore, they were sentenced to life in prison for the crime in early April.

The three men reportedly showed “little emotion” as they received their sentences.
