<p>Rapper and hypeman <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/flavor-flav-details-his-near-fatal-car-accident-im-still-traumatized/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Flavor Flav</a> is sharing more about his past with drug addiction. And revealed that he spent up to $2,600 a day on the six-year habit.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Flavor Flav Made The Revelation On An Episode Of &#8220;Off The Record&#8221; With DJ Akademiks</h3>
<p>The 63-year-old recently sat down with <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/dj-akademiks-says-he-was-wrong-after-calling-yung-miami-diddys-side-chick-she-a-queen-i-love-her/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DJ Akademiks</a> and explained that he &#8220;maintained&#8221; himself &#8220;very well&#8221; when he was addicted to the substances.</p>
<blockquote><p>And not only that but I kind of kept it hidden&#8230; So a lot of people, you know, didn&#8217;t really <em>know</em>. They were trying to figure it out&#8230; Cause I never really let people know exactly what I was doing.</p></blockquote>
<p>Flav explained that he only revealed his habit to others after he was &#8220;getting tired of being like that.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>There&#8217;s a point and time in life where you get tired of s**t&#8230; Mainly when it doesn&#8217;t get you no place.</p></blockquote>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Flav Revealed Just How Much His Drug Addiction Cost Him Per Day</h3>
<p>The 63-year-old revealed that there was a time when he was spending $2,400 to $2,600 per day, for &#8220;six years straight,&#8221; on drugs.</p>
<blockquote><p>You do the math&#8230; That&#8217;s how much I spent on drugs, daily.</p></blockquote>
<p>Flav explained that he &#8220;had a lot of money at the time.&#8221; But he was just &#8220;doing the wrong things&#8221; with it.</p>
<blockquote><p>I guess God wanted me to live. And he knows that I&#8217;m a mouthpiece to the world, so I feel like God let me live through that so that way I can teach people about the mistakes that I made. And hopefully, they don&#8217;t make them&#8230;</p></blockquote>
<p>The rapper explained that &#8220;drugs are easy to get on.&#8221; But they&#8217;re &#8220;hard as hell to get off of.&#8221;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Flavor Flav Recently Celebrated Two Years Of Sobriety</h3>
<p>According to <a href="https://people.com/music/flavor-flav-spent-2600-a-day-drugs-6-years/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a>, the rapper celebrated two years of sobriety in October. Back in 2011, the rapper published a book detailing his addiction to crack, as reported by <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2023/01/30/flavor-flav-public-enemy-crack-cocaine-dj-akademiks-new-rappers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TMZ</a>.</p>
<p>Today, Flav isn&#8217;t so happy to see the promotion of drug use in society and music, and the negative impact it&#8217;s having on the youth.</p>
<blockquote><p>Back in the days, when we used to make drug records, we used to talk about selling drugs. Talking about who can make the most money off drugs, who&#8217;s balling off selling drugs. It was a competition thing to all of the hustlers. Now today&#8217;s music, we&#8217;re talking about doing drugs. So, there&#8217;s a big change within the music &#8230; It&#8217;s giving younger kids the wrong idea.</p></blockquote>
