<p>A Georgia mother has been arrested and charged with the murder of her seven-year-old daughter. <p>According to the outlet, Alondra Hobbs was arrested on Thursday. The woman faces charges of &#8220;felony murder&#8221; and &#8220;second-degree cruelty to children&#8221; in relation to her daughter&#8217;s death.</p>
<p>The outlet reports that authorities have not released information regarding the child&#8217;s manner of death.</p>
<p>However, according to <a href="https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/mother-arrest-murder-decomposing-girl-body-misty-water-drive-apartment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox 5 Atlanta</a>, the child has been identified as 7-year-old Alivia Hobbs-Jordan.</p>
<p>The DeKalb County Police Department also confirmed Hobb&#8217;s arrest and the child&#8217;s identity via <a href="https://twitter.com/DeKalbCountyPD/status/1674804664594755589" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Twitter</a>.</p>

<p>An unnamed resident, who opted to remain anonymous, reportedly discovered the body of Alivia Hobbs-Jordan. He shared the details of the discovery exclusively with <a href="https://www.11alive.com/article/news/crime/mom-murder-charge-body-found-hidden-valley-apartments-dekalb-county/85-68ca9fb2-b0bb-4d21-ab0e-4daee156ba24" target="_blank" rel="noopener">11Alive</a>.</p>
<p>According to the man, he was leaving a friend&#8217;s residence at the Hidden Valley Apartments and noticed that the front door to one of the units was &#8220;wide open.&#8221; As he walked closer to the unit, he said he noticed a &#8220;foul odor.&#8221;</p>
<p>As he entered the apartment, he observed that the &#8220;lights were off&#8221; and &#8220;no one was home.&#8221; Additionally, he noted that there was still furniture present in the apartment. However, it appeared that someone &#8220;left in a hurry.&#8221;</p>
<p>He then walked to the bedroom and noticed that the closet door was left open, showing a protruding figure. The man told the outlet that it was a &#8220;human arm.&#8221;</p>
<p>Furthermore, he observed that it appeared to be the body of a &#8220;young girl.&#8221;</p>

<p>The man then made multiple attempts to contact 911, who he says did not believe his account of events. However, officers eventually responded to the incident around 9 p.m.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://www.ajc.com/news/crime/breaking-mother-arrested-in-death-of-child-found-decaying-in-dekalb-closet/5WKLQGIK4BFWJBFP76G2UESGCI/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Atlanta Journal-Constitution</a>, the apartment has &#8220;been vacant for many months.&#8221; However, neighbors have reportedly told police that squatters have frequently used it.</p>
<p>Additionally, neighbors recalled that a woman did inhabit the apartment. However, they don&#8217;t recall ever seeing a child with her.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;The child never went out of the apartment. Didn&#8217;t go to school. There was nobody to say, ‘Where was this kid?’ And that&#8217;s sad. It&#8217;s a sad statement about the world we live in.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
