<p>Model <strong>Gigi Hadid </strong>was arrested on drug possession charges shortly after touching down in the Cayman Islands last week.</p>
<p>Customs &; Border Control agents specifically found a small quantity of marijuana, along with paraphernalia, in Gigi&#8217;s luggage. As a result, she was reportedly fined $1,000 and ultimately released from custody.</p>
<p>However, Gigi&#8217;s seemingly letting it be known that she is unfazed by the ordeal, prompting input from internet users!</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Gigi Was Arrested &; Fined $1,000 Over &#8220;Marijuana Purchased Legally In N.Y.C.&#8221;</h3>
<p>According to the <a href="https://caymanmarlroad.com/2023/07/17/gigi-hadid-charged-with-drugs-offenses/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Cayman Marl Road</a>, the situation unfolded on Jul. 10. Upon landing at the Owen Roberts International Airport General Aviation Terminal, Gigi disembarked from a private jet and had her <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/mother-daughter-fights-spirit-airlines-luggage/?_gl=1*1jjs9x4*_up*MQ..*_ga*MTE1MzU1NjM1NC4xNjg5NzAyNDY1*_ga_V2HX8YP3XL*MTY4OTcwMjQ2My4xLjEuMTY4OTcwMjQ2OC4wLjAuMA.." target="_blank" rel="noopener">luggage</a> screened along with the other passengers.</p>
<p>Authorities ultimately found marijuana and paraphernalia in Gigi&#8217;s luggage. Similar materials were found in her friend <strong>Leah Nicole McCarthy</strong>&#8216;s luggage as well, leading to both parties being arrested.</p>
<p>They were reportedly taken into custody for processing before being released on bail. Two days later, they&#8217;re noted as pleading guilty in George Town — the capital of the Cayman Islands — and being fined $1,000.</p>
<p>In response to the news, a representative for Gigi Hadid told <a href="https://people.com/gigi-hadid-arrested-for-marijuana-possession-7562383" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a> that the marijuana was <strong><em>&#8220;purchased legally in N.Y.C.&#8221; </em></strong>It was also stated that Gigi has a medical card.</p>

<p>In light of this news, we should add that the situation doesn&#8217;t appear to have placed a damper on Gigi Hadid&#8217;s lil&#8217; Caribbean vaycay.</p>
<p>On Friday (Jul. 14), Gigi shared a photo of herself posing on an outdoor chaise lounge and showing off a temporary dragon tattoo.</p>
