Gladys Knight is making headlines for a comment she made about #ArethaFranklin. Camera crews caught up with Gladys outside of Aretha’s memorial service and she opened up about the last moments she shared with the queen of soul.
According to @People, she said: “The last time I talked to her, we were at the same hotel and we didn’t know it,” she said, explaining that afterwards they “got to talking and everything and at that time we shared the fact that we had the same disease.”
A lot of people were quick to speculate that Gladys was dealing with the same disease, pancreatic cancer, that Aretha lost her battle with.
Her publicist, Jay Schwartz, quickly clarified her statement and said she “does not have pancreatic cancer, she is fine.”
