I know they’re not going to leave fans hangin’ like this! The last five episodes of #NBC’s “Good Girls” will be its last.

The Hollywood Reporter reports NBC has canceled the dramedy after four seasons. The show is still airing in its fourth season and will finish out its last few episodes this summer.

There were efforts to move the series to #Netflix, where the show has gained a fan base, but those plans imploded and the series will not make the move to the streaming service as an original series for a fifth season.

Sources told THR that NBC and its in-house studio, Universal Television, wanted to bring the show back for a fifth — and final — season but could not come to a financial agreement that would have allowed the show to live on for one more season.

Things weren’t looking too good for the show–which stars Christina Hendricks, Mae Whitman and Retta as friends who become involved in a criminal enterprise–as the viewership went downhill in this current season.

The fourth season averaged a mere 0.7 million viewers in the 18-49 demographic, down more than 22 percent year-over-year, and 2.74 million total viewers when factoring in seven days of delayed viewing.

The deal at Netflix seemed likely after former NBC co-president of scripted content Tracey Pakosta — who renewed the show multiple times during her run at the network — left NBC to become head of comedy at Netflix. One factor that could have been an issue with the show moving would have been Universal TV asking Netflix to take on more production costs for the show.

How do y’all feel about “Good Girls” not getting a proper ending? Do you think it should be saved? Let us know!
