<p>Talk about literally fighting through the pain to get the job done! Halle Berry&#8217;s new film &#8220;Bruised&#8221; is scheduled to release on <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/netflix-to-add-video-games-to-its-programming/">Netflix</a></em> on November 24th. She is not only the star of the film, but the movie will also serve as her directorial debut. Recently she sat down with <em><a href="https://ew.com/movies/halle-berry-bruised-cover-story/">Entertainment Weekly</a></em> to talk about the new project, where she portrays MMA fighter, Jackie Justice.</p>
<p>While speaking about the upcoming film, she revealed that she actually broke two of her ribs on the very first day of shooting, but decided to keep production going. It was noted that she had previously cracked two of her ribs while filming &#8220;John Wick 3,&#8221; and that ribs that were broken during the first day of filming &#8220;Bruised,&#8221; were two completely different ribs.</p>
<p>She spoke about the difference between cracking her ribs while filming &#8220;John Wick 3,&#8221; compared to breaking them while filming &#8220;Bruised and said, &#8220;I told the director about it, they told the insurance. We had to shut down for months and it was a big ordeal. On this, because it was an independent movie, we didn&#8217;t have a big budget. The director in me said, &#8216;I didn&#8217;t come this far and work this hard to go home.'&#8221;</p>
<p>Eric Brown, the fight choreographer, and stunt coordinator, spoke about the location of the break and said it was &#8220;kind of a crazy injury. But that was just her intensity…. Halle&#8217;s a special case. I&#8217;ve worked with tons of actors, and almost none of them have that kind of work ethic.&#8221;</p>

<div class="paragraph">Halle spoke about her excitement for the film and revealed that it was three years in the making. She said, &#8220;This project is so special to me, not only because it’s my directorial debut, but because the fight game — especially MMA — is a sport that I absolutely love and a genre that has always been winning.&#8221;</div>

<p>The film was originally placed together for Blake Lively, with Nick Cassavetes set to direct. However, once she turned down the film, Halle went to producer Basil Iwanyk, and pitched her ideas for the film. He loved her ideas and told her to go find a director. Ultimately Halle realized she was the one that was fit to bring her ideas for the film to life.</p>
