<p>According to <a href="https://www.complex.com/music/a/tracewilliamcowen/ciara-derek-jeter-related" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Complex</a>, Ciara appeared as a guest on the first episode of the tenth season of the PBS series &#8216;<a href="https://www.pbs.org/video/born-to-sing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Finding Your Roots With Henry Louis Gates, Jr.</a>&#8216;</p>
<p>The episode reportedly aired on Tuesday, January 2, per <a href="https://www.pbs.org/video/born-to-sing-preview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PBS</a>.</p>
<p>During the sitdown, the singer reviewed her ancestry results with the host. However, as she looked them over, she had a huge reaction.</p>

<p>According to Gates, Ciara and Jeter, a former New York Yankees baseball player, share a &#8220;long identical stretch of DNA on their 14th chromosome.&#8221; This indicates that the pair are &#8220;distant cousins.&#8221;</p>
<p>Amid the episode&#8217;s premiere, Ciara took to Instagram to share a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1nKVUkvXGr/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&;igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clip</a> of the moment with fans.</p>
