Police in Houston have issued an arrest warrant for rapper Finesse2Tymes for reportedly stealing a rental car earlier this year.

Finesse2Tymes Wanted For Not Returning Rental Car Despite Promising To Do So

The warrant report claims a man who went by Ronald Bell rented an Infiniti QX80 SUV on Feb. 28, from an Enterprise Rent-A-Car location within the city, according to ABC 13.

It was supposed to be returned on Mar. 10. However, the vehicle was never dropped off.

Enterprise eventually sent Bell a 10-day demand letter to return the SUV. On April 20, an Enterprise employee reportedly spoke with Bell over the phone, court records show.

Bell said the rapper “Finesse2Tymes” was driving the vehicle and proceeded to call him on a three-way call with the employee that same day, according to Click2Houston.

2Tymes reportedly told the Enterprise employee that his Zelle account was “tied up.” However, he did say he would send “some” money and return the SUV at an Enterprise location in Atlanta the next day (Apr. 21).

It was listed as stolen on Apr. 24 after the rapper failed to do so, per Click2Houston.

Memphis Rapper Charged With Felony Theft Between $30K-$150K, No Arrest As Of Yet

Authorities eventually ran the SUV’s license via a plate reading database. They quickly learned that the vehicle had been driving in the Houston Area on Apr. 24.

It was ultimately located outside of a recording studio within city limits, according to ABC 13. A woman operating the SUV told investigators she “got the keys from her boss,” Finesse2Tymes.

A day later, Houston police found Finesse2Tymes, whose real name is Ricky Leshay Hampton, to be unlawfully “exercising control over property, namely, a motor vehicle” that was “of the value of at least $30,000 and less than $150,000” in Harris County.

The SUV was valued at $72,200, the outlet reports.

The Memphis native, who’s signed to Atlantic Records, is charged with felony theft between $30,000 and $150,000, Click2Houston reports.

He has not been arrested as of Thursday (Jul. 20).

Authorities in Houston, Texas, are on the hunt for a Memphis rapper.

Rapper’s Past Criminal Charges, Deadly Glorilla Concert Stampede

In 2022, the 31-year-old “Back End” rapper was reportedly released from federal prison on a weapons charge. He remains on supervised release until June 2024, ABC 13 reports.

In March, Finesse2Tymes was performing alongside Glorilla when a stampede of fans left one dead and nine injured, as previously reported by The Shade Room.

During the performance, AP News reported that concertgoers began to rush toward the exit. The stampede allegedly started after audience members believed they heard gunshots at the Rochester Main Street Armory.

However, Rochester Police Chief David M. Smith notes that investigators “(did) not have any evidence of gunshots being fired or of anyone being shot or stabbed at the scene.”
