While #21Savage awaits his fate following his #ICE arrest, he can be reassured that his bag remains secured, literally.
Support from loved ones, fellow artists and fans has poured in for 21 following his arrest last week when authorities claimed his visa expired and that he allegedly has been living here illegally. His lawyers and supporters say he was targeted and now they are protesting a potential deportation.
No matter what happens to 21, @Tmz_tv reports that the feds won’t be able to touch the millions of dollars he’s earned. If the coins are earned lawfully, despite illegal residency status, they cannot be seized.
Currently, 21 Savage remains in custody despite the fact that people with illegal status who are not a threat to their community or a flight risk typically are bonded out pending a deportation hearing.
Attorney Alex Spiro says, “ICE has confirmed he was targeted for immigration enforcement and nothing more. He was never arrested by the police, and some other individual’s firearm and vehicle is not our concern here.”
That’s not it though, attorney Brian Steel confirms information from an earlier story about police finding a gun in his car during his arrest. He says, “That was not his car and the gun retrieved is not his. No one will be falsely accusing my client. 21 Savage has done absolutely nothing wrong.”
Spiro was hired for 21 after Jay-Z spoke out against the injustice 21 Savage is experiencing. “The arrest and detention of 21 Savage is an absolute travesty, his U Visa petition has been pending for 4 years. In addition to being a successful recording artist, 21 deserves to be reunited with his children immediately,” Hov said in a statement.
“We are not going to stop until he is released, bonded out or in front of a judge … What we have here is someone who overstayed their Visa with an application pending for 4 years – not a convicted criminal that needs to be detained and removed but, by all accounts a wonderful person, father, and entertainer who has a marijuana offense which was vacated and sealed,” Spiro said.
