<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">Even though &#8216;Insecure&#8217; fans will say their final goodbye to Issa Rae&#8217;s mirror rap sessions and juicy drama next season, the multi-talented star is keeping that acting bag going! She will reportedly be joining the sequel to the award-winning animated film &#8216;Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.&#8217; The Hollywood Reporter <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/issa-rae-spider-man-into-the-spider-verse-sequel-exclusive-1234963163/">exclusively shared</a> that Issa will be joining the cast as Jessica Drew, who is better known as Spider-Woman.</p>
<p>Unfortunately, that&#8217;s all the details being shared about Issa&#8217;s role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, specifics about the film&#8217;s plot &#8220;are being kept hidden.&#8221; We do know, however, that additional &#8220;Spider-characters&#8221; from Marvel Comics will be featured in the sequel.</p>
<p>In addition to Issa&#8217;s voice, the animated project will welcome back the voices of Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld in their original roles. Shameik will continue to play Miles Morales better known as Spider-Man and Hailee will return as Spider-Gwen. The sequel will be reportedly released on October 7, 2022.</p>
<p>Earlier today, Issa posted a tweet to her Instagram that shows The Hollywood Reporter&#8217;s story on her new role. She expressed her love for the Spider-Man franchise.</p>
<p>&#8220;The way I have loved Spider-Man since the third grade,&#8221; Issa wrote on her Instagram story. &#8220;A dream come true.&#8221;</p>
<p>She also reposted a congratulatory text message from someone named Desiree.</p>
<p>B**** you bout to for real be Spider Woman,&#8221; the text said. &#8220;Your weird a** obsession has paid off!!! I am so f****** hype for your spidey a**.&#8221; Issa&#8217;s repost was accompanied with the message &#8220;real ones know.&#8221; So, it might be safe to say Issa is excited about playing Spider-Woman.</p>
<p>Issa <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/issa-rae-reportedly-signs-eight-figure-film-television-deal-with-warnermedia/">&#8216;Get To The Bag&#8217;</a> Rae has quite a bit on her creative plate. She&#8217;s currently breaking hearts with the filming of the fifth and final season of her hit series &#8216;Insecure.&#8217; She&#8217;s also executive producing the second season of the HBO show &#8216;A Black Lady Sketch Show.&#8217; We expect balancing all her endeavors won&#8217;t be an issue for our gal as she boasts a <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/viola-davis-chadwick-boseman-issa-rae-more-were-the-definition-of-black-excellence-at-the-2021-naacp-image-awards/">shining resume</a> as a writer, producer, director, executive and actor.</p>
