<p>On Tuesday, December 26, Tanaka took to Instagram to share a text post with his followers. In the message, Tanaka addressed his friends and fans. Then, he explained that with &#8220;mixed emotions,&#8221; he had a personal update to share with fans.</p>
<p>Tanaka explained that he amicably split from Mariah Carey after &#8220;seven extraordinary years.&#8221;</p>
<p>The choreographer shared that he and Carey have decided to embark on &#8220;different paths.&#8221; However, his respect and gratitude for the time he and his ex-girlfriend shared will always be valued and &#8220;etched&#8221; into his heart.</p>

<p>As his message continued, Tanaka expressed his &#8220;love and appreciation&#8221; for Carey and her twins, Moroccan and Monroe.</p>

<p>Before Tanaka concluded his message, he asked fans for their understanding, privacy, and respect during this &#8220;sensitive time.&#8221; He also explained that he feels uplifted by the support he&#8217;s received from fans thus far.</p>

At the time, an unnamed source informed <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/12/20/entertainment/mariah-carey-and-bryan-tanaka-split-he-wants-a-family/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a> that Tanaka allegedly wanted to have children, while Carey disagreed.</p>
<p>To note, Carey is a 54-year-old mother to twelve-year-old twins, and Tanaka, 40, has no children.</p>
