<p><strong>Jamie Foxx</strong> thanked his family, God, friends, and fans for their protection and prayers during what he describes as a hellish period. The Oscar winner relayed the message in his <strong>first video</strong> since <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/jamie-foxx-recovering-from-medical-complication-daughter-reveals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">his &#8220;medical complication&#8221;</a> in April.</p>
<p>Teary-eyed, he explained his decision to keep his status under TIGHT wraps and later shut down rumors about his condition. However, Foxx&#8211;like his family before him&#8211;did not outwardly say exactly what he suffered.</p>
<p>He shared the video update to his Instagram feed on July 22.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;I went through something that I thought I would never, ever go through. And I know a lot of people were waiting, wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn&#8217;t want you to see me, like that man,&#8221; Jamie Foxx said. &#8220;I want you to see me laughing, partying, having a good time, cracking a joke, doing a movie, television show. I didn&#8217;t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.&#8221;</p></blockquote>

<p>As the clip continued, Jamie Foxx thanked his daughter, sister, and medical professionals for saving his life and valuing his privacy.</p>

<p>As previously reported, his eldest daughter Corinne first told the world Jamie was receiving treatment on April 12. A few other written statements followed: an Instagram Story post on Jamie&#8217;s account, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CsJ2gvkOlae/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&;igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Corinne correcting</a> hospitalization rumors, and the <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/jamie-foxx-corinne-foxx-host-fox-music-game-show-we-are-family-1235612696/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announcement of a new show</a> for the daddy-daughter duo.</p>

<p>But months passed before the public SAW Jamie. Then in July, a group of people cruising on the Chicago River videoed the actor lying on the top deck of a yet. Jamie waved from afar.</p>

Said I was paralyzed, I&#8217;m not paralyzed, but I did go through..I went through hell and back and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. <p>As he thanked everyone for their love, the actor got teary-eyed, and his voice cracked with obvious emotion.</p>

Jamie&#8217;s industry peers, including <strong>Will Smith</strong>, <strong>Kevin Hart</strong>, <strong>Viola Davis</strong>, <strong>Kerry Washington</strong>, and <strong>Michael B. Jordan,</strong> shared their encouragement in his comment section.</p>
