<p>Janet Jackson&#8217;s marriage to James DeBarge was annulled after just one year, however, rumors have circulated for years as to whether or not she secretly gave birth to a daughter in 1984. DeBarge&#8217;s mother, Etterlene DeBarge, recalls a conversation in which she first acknowledged that she could be pregnant. </p>
<p>&#8220;I told her she was pregnant. I didn’t ask her,&#8221; DeBarge tells #InsideEdition. &#8220;I said, ‘Girl, you pregnant. Look how fat you’re getting.’ She just laughed it off. She never denied it.&#8221; </p>
<p>After Jackson&#8217;s marriage to James DeBarge dissolved, the DeBarge matriarch says that the &#8216;Rhythm Nation&#8217; singer disappeared from the public eye which only fueled speculation that she had allegedly given birth to their child. </p>
<p>Over the years, many women came forward claiming to be that child but turned out not to be. It wasn&#8217;t until one day that DeBarge met a woman from Philadelphia who agreed to a DNA test. &#8220;I told her, the proof is in the pudding let&#8217;s go get a DNA test.&#8221;</p>
<p>The results of the DNA test allegedly stated that the &#8220;probability of relatedness is 96.7 percent.&#8221; The woman is now 31 years old. </p>
