<p>Jason Derulo is preparing to make his feature acting debut in the film adaption of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical “Cats.”</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jason-derulo-joins-cats-movie-1163119">The Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, the A-list cast already includes Jennifer Hudson, Idris Elba, James Corden, Taylor Swift, Rebel Wilson, Ian McKellen, and Judi Dench.</p>
<p>Based on the synopsis, the musical tells the story of “a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as ‘the Jellicle choice’ and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.”</p>
<p>Derulo will play the role of a feline named Rum Tum Tugger, who is rebellious and never satisfied. Jennifer Hudson will be playing the role of Grizabella, Ian McKellan will portray Gus the Theatre Cat, and Idris Elba will play Macavity.</p>
<p>Production is scheduled to begin next month, with Tom Hooper directing and Steven Spielberg, Lloyd Webber, and Angela Morrison executive producing.</p>
<p>Jason Derulo posted about the film and said, &#8220;Too excited for this!! What ya&#8217;ll think about the cast??&#8221;</p>
