The Super Bowl is quickly approaching, and word on the street is the NFL was eyeing Jay-Z to perform during the Halftime Show alongside Justin Timberlake.
Although it was never confirmed from either side, excitement about the alleged performance grew since Jay-Z has been riding high off of the success of his 13th studio album “4:44.”
Now, it is being reported that Jay-Z allegedly turned down the offer to perform at the upcoming Super Bowl.
According to the Metro, an insider said, “Lots of people have been saying Jay will perform with Justin Timberlake, but it is simply not the case. He has enough songs to create an incredible performance but he really has no plans to do the half-time show.”
Jay-Z allegedly declining to perform during the Halftime Show comes after he showed his support for Colin Kaepernick at The Meadows Music Festival in New York. During his set, he dedicated his song “The Story of O.J.” to Kaepernick.
