<p>Recently Jhene Aiko stopped by BBC Radio 1Xtra where she talked the inspiration behind her music, being a mother, and of course her relationship with Big Sean.</p>
<p>During the interview, she talked about when she and Big Sean first met, and ultimately how they developed a friendship before ever moving into a romantic relationship.</p>
<p>She said, “The year that my brother passed, I had just met him. And we worked on ‘Beware’ and ‘I’m Gonna Be.’ He wanted to take me out on a date. I had a boyfriend, but I still went. It was like to a basketball game. Just as a friend!”</p>
<p>She continued to explain, “I mean, I had never been courtside to a game. And he’s cool. So, I told my boyfriend I’m gonna go to this game&#8230;me and my boyfriend were splitting up, it was, like, bad between us. He was still my boyfriend, I wasn’t gonna do anything with Sean or be disrespectful.”</p>
<p>She later went on to mention that her ex was secretly married and she didn’t know until the other woman confronted her.</p>
<p>That portion of her interview was met with mixed reviews throughout social media. Jhene then took to Twitter to set the record straight.</p>
