<p>Roommates, Pop Smoke&#8217;s posthumous album <em>Shoot For The Stars Aim For The Moon</em> was released earlier this year after his unfortunate passing back in February. Unfortunately, it looks like the project is facing some legal trouble!</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://allhiphop.com/news/exclusive-blogger-sues-pop-smokes-label-for-millions-over-1-dollar-offer-and-stolen-interview/">All Hip Hop</a>, Victoria Inoyo filed a lawsuit against Pop&#8217;s label, Victor Victor Worldwide, alleging the record label used a portion of the interview she had with the late rapper without her permission. The gag is, Victoria is claiming the label reached out to her and only offered her $1 to use her voice on the project. She says she declined the offer, and they used her voice anyway.</p>
<p>If you listen closely to the &#8220;Tunnel Vision (Outro)&#8221;, you can hear Victoria and Pop have an exchange where she asks him about how he wants to be remembered in the rap game, and he replies saying, &#8220;Pop smoke came in and changed the game. Pop Smoke came through and showed n*ggas a new vibe.&#8221;</p>

<p>Unfortunately, Victoria wants her coins and is suing the label for copyright infringement and unjust enrichment. She is reportedly seeking $1.5 million in damages, credit as a writer on Pop&#8217;s album, and a percentage of the publishing revenue from the album.</p>
<p>&#8220;The label knew that it did not have Ms. Iyono&#8217;s permission to use the interview; yet rather than negotiate with Ms. Iyono in good-faith in order to obtain her permission to use the interview, the label inexcusably and unjustifiably used the interview and released the album and the song for commercial distribution in violation of, among other things, Ms. Iyono&#8217;s copyrights and her intellectual property,&#8221; Victoria&#8217;s lawyer Andre Williams said.</p>
