It’s been an interesting year for Kanye West, and he’s been using social media as a means of expression outside of releasing his music. Ye recently released the visuals for his song ‘Eazy,’ and took to social media with a poem entitled ‘Dead’ after folks questioned his decision to depict Pete Davidson in the video.

The visuals resemble those of early 2000s adult animations like Celebrity Death Match, with a character seemingly meant to be Pete. In the song, Kanye raps about “beating Pete Davidson’s a**” and the character gets a bag placed over his head.

The innanet has been in a frenzy since its release, trying to uncover the meaning behind the imagery, and it doesn’t seem like Ye is here for providing an explanation. In the new poem, Mr. West explained that he isn’t allowed to express himself in the way he would like to, and say will not explain the meaning behind his art.

“I feel already compromised that I have to justify my expression after over 20 years of art that I’ve contributed to the planet but I also see the need to make sure we as a species are allowed to still feel anything,” Ye captioned the poem. “Men not allowed to cry, celebrities not allowed to cry. I will not explain this new piece for the explanation destroys the mystery and magic of true love and puts it in a box that can be counted.”

He continued saying, “Art is subjective. Art only works when it is the artist absolute truth. someone’s truth can be another person’s lie. We don’t all have to feel the same because we are not the same.”

What do y’all think Ye means by this new poem?
