<p>Kayla Nicole has broken her silence and is sharing inspirational words for other Black women. As <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/travis-kelce-his-friends-family-approve-praise-taylor-swift-dating-rumors/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Shade Room</a> previously reported, Nicole&#8217;s ex-boyfriend, NFL player Travis Kelce, is rumored to be dating pop star Taylor Swift.</p>
<p>According to <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/10/10/travis-kelces-ex-kayla-nicole-addresses-taylor-swift-romance-in-open-letter/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Page Six</a>, Nicole and Kelce dated &#8220;on and off&#8221; between 2017-2022. We must note that Kelce and his new rumored girlfriend, Swift, are white. Additionally, their rumored romance has brought about backlash toward Nicole.</p>

<p>On Monday evening, the 31-year-old took to Instagram to share a video with fans. In the clip, Nicole explained it has always been &#8220;really important&#8221; for her to use her platform &#8220;not to create division.&#8221; However, &#8220;to elevate and unite women — Black women, specifically.&#8221;</p>
<p>Nicole then began to read her open letter.</p>

<p>hey may call you a traitor for falling in love,&#8221; Nicole began. &#8220;You’ll hope the ones closest will protect you, but you&#8217;ll quickly find out that people don’t protect what they don’t value. They’ll say you’re too much&#8230; and in the same breath, tell you you’re not enough. Not successful enough, not wholesome enough, maybe not even intelligent enough&#8230;&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The 31-year-old then went on to address the &#8220;backlash and embarrassment&#8221; she&#8217;s endured, seemingly from those who have criticized her for her past interracial relationship with Kelce.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;They&#8217;ll say you deserve the backlash and embarrassment because of your Blackness, you should have known better,&#8221; Nicole continued. &#8220;They’ll even try to tie your value to your net worth. But Black girl, please remember, your value lies elsewhere.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Nicole continued by explaining that one&#8217;s value lies in their character and &#8220;resilience.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;&#8230;The way your protect what means most to you, even if it hurts you along the way,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;And the way you stand up for what means most to you, even though they may never do the same&#8230;&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>The 31-year-old told viewers that if they are ever faced with similar backlash for their choices, they &#8220;do not have to engage.&#8221;</p>
