<p>Recently we all learned that actress Keshia Knight Pulliam gave birth to her baby girl Ella Grace.</p>
<p>The actress talked about her labor and delivery experience during a new episode of her podcast “Kandidly Keisha.”</p>
<p>According to <em><a href="http://www.eonline.com/news/826694/keshia-knight-pulliam-says-hospital-worker-mistook-her-for-a-poor-mother-in-need-after-she-gave-birth">E News</a></em>, while speaking about her experience, she talked about how a lactation specialist had mistaken her for a mother that was in need after giving birth to her baby girl.</p>
<p>She said, &#8220;Bless this old little lady&#8217;s heart. This old little white lady&#8230;she&#8217;s like about 70 years old.&#8221;</p>
<p>Keshia pointed out that the specialist handed her a pamphlet, which is a part of the hospitals standard procedure for new mothers. However, she said that the specialist turned to a certain page that listed about 30 different numbers and resources for mothers.</p>
<p>Keshia felt offended when the specialist said, “Yes we have some great programs that you may want to take advantage of that you may need. Um, WIC is a great program. I don’t know if you have insurance.”</p>
<p>Keshia then continued, &#8220;So I guess she saw this little black girl with the little baby by herself and on the door, I didn&#8217;t realize that they&#8217;d put like a faux last name and the last name was Brown. So I guess she saw &#8216;Miss Brown&#8217; and was like, She probably needs some WIC.'&#8221;</p>
<p>She then stopped the lady and let her know that she has excellent insurance.</p>
<p>&#8220;I get it, it&#8217;s about showing the services that are offered. And I probably wouldn&#8217;t have been offended had she [pointed out] several of the services [and not just] WIC and the fact that &#8216;if you don&#8217;t have insurance,” said Pulliam.</p>
<p>Needless to say, her doula was also on hand following the delivery and requested another lactation specialist, after she claims the first specialist didn&#8217;t want to touch her to show her how to properly breastfeed her baby.</p>
