BETs new head of programming, Stephen Hill, is still going out with the old and coming in with the new new and Kelly Rowland and Brandy both made the cut!
BET tweeted, @KellyRowland is on a mission to find the next big female R&B group on #CHASINGDESTINY coming to BET and she confirmed with, So excited!
Basically, Kelly will be searching out the next big female superstar group to make their mark in a dog-eat-dog music industry. These females will be guided by Rowland to find their voice as entertainers. Congrats, Kelly. Good luck, ladies!
Since The Game is on its final season, Brandy has decided to stick around with the BET family for a romantic comedy as well! Shell be starring in Zoe Moon, another new addition to BETs programming line-up. Zoe Moon, whos played by Brandy is about a live-out-loud newly single mom embarking on a new life and career as a fledging cosmetics mogul. This is Brandys first leading series since Moesha.
Other shows that are scheduled to debut on the network is DeSean Jackson: Home Team, which according to the LA Times is a “reality series featuring Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson as he deals with life on and off the field, and the core of women surrounding him, including his “momager” Gayle, his sister and assistant ADreea, his publicist Denise and his new girlfriend, Kayla.
And they are bringing back “Punk’d”, ya’ll!!! BET might just be where it’s at again!!
Both Chasing Destiny and Zoe Moon as well as the other shows are a part of Hills attempt to lead more original scripted programming. Warm wishes and good luck on the new journey, ladies!
