There is no doubt that this year has been a rocky one for Kesha after she filed a sexual assault case against Dr. Luke.
The singer claimed that the music producer sexually assaulted her and emotionally abused her. All of which has brought a halt to her music.
Rolling Stone now reports that the singer has dropped her sexual assault case against Dr. Luke in the state of California. However, she is still pursing appeals in New York after a Supreme Court Justice dismissed her case back in April.
Although her request to terminate her contract with Dr. Luke’s company Kemosabe is still pending, Kesha is now focused on getting back to her music.
Her lawyer Daniel Petrocecelli said in a statement, “Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label. We have conveyed to Sony and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible.”
Although she has received tons of support from other celebrity’s and fans, she became faced with the reality of a long-term hiatus as her case still stands.
Therefore, she is hoping that Sony and Kemosabe will recognize her efforts to restart her career as soon as possible.
