Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Tiffany Haddish, T.I. And More Attend George Floyd’s Memorial Service In Minneapolis

Roommates, the first of multiple memorial services to honor George Floyd recently took place—and several celebrities showed up to pay their respects. Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Tiffany Haddish, T.I. and more were on hand to say a final goodbye to George Floyd at his Minneapolis memorial.

Although there are multiple memorial services planned to honor the life and memory of George Floyd, the first was recently held in Minneapolis and many big names were in attendance. Reverend Jesse Jackson, T.I., Tiny, Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Tyrese and Tiffany Haddish and Reverend Al Sharpton were just some of the notable names who attended the memorial service.

There were very moving and emotional speeches throughout the service before George Floyd’s golden casket was revealed and covered in flowers. The mural that was created at the site where he was arrested was also shown on stage during the memorial. As the ceremony began, Floyd family attorney Benjamin Crump addressed the reports that George Floyd had tested positive for coronavirus following his autopsy. “Racism and police brutality killed Floyd,” he said.

As we previously reported, second memorial service will take place on June 6th also from 1-3PM in North Carolina where he was born. Additionally, a public viewing is scheduled for June 8th at The Fountain of Praise Church near Houston, Texas where Floyd grew up, from 12-6PM. Meanwhile, his official funeral is planned for 11AM on June 9th at the same church, with his burial to follow.

In a new release regarding the funeral, it was announced that the service will be ticketed. Floyd’s family has requested that his funeral be “grand” and were searching tirelessly to find a venue to hold all of the expected attendees to pay their respects—which is likely why the funeral had to require tickets. Fort Bend Memorial Planning Center in Texas is handling all of the arrangements for each of George Floyd’s services.
