The whole internet is trying to figure out how NBC messed this one up, Chile! NBC News reported on Usain Bolt testing positive for Coronavirus but people on social media were highly confused when it was Kevin Hart whose picture was used for the story.
People were trying to make sense of the mistake as the two don’t really look alike, not to mention there’s at least a whole foot between the 5’4 comedian and the 6’5 Olympic gold medalist.
Now, NBC isn’t the first and likely won’t be the last news outlet or publication to mix up two famous Black people, and there’s really no good excuse as we all know all Black people, in fact, do not look alike. But NBC blamed this one on a technical error, according to The Hill.
“Correction: Due to a technical error, the social image on this post mistakenly featured a photo of comedian Kevin Hart,” a correction issued by NBC stated. “In the content management system, a social image was not selected, and the system reverted to an image of Hart from an unrelated video. The display image has been corrected.”
While that may have been the case, Kevin Hart still decided to have a little fun with NBC on this one.
