Yesterday, Kim Kardashian posted photos of herself from her latest photoshoot with 7Hollywood Magazine. Soon after she posted the photos, she got immediate backlash due to the color of her skin appearing darker in the images.
Many people felt as though Kim Kardashian was appearing darker than usual in the photos, and some even accused her of black face, and appropriating black culture.
According to Page Six, a source close to Kim who was on set at the photoshoot says she appears darker due to the lighting.
“It’s the lighting that makes her look darker in this specific image,” the source says. “There are multiple covers and images from this shoot where the lighting looks more natural.”
“People are so quick to find the negative in everything and also often forget that she is of Armenian descent.”
Kim is no stranger to this type of backlash as she has been accused of appropriating culture many times before.
Today, Amanda Seales took to Instagram to address Kim appearing darker in her latest shoot in a 6 minute video.
In the video, she accuses Kim of black face and cultural appropriation of black women.
