<p data-pm-slice="0 0 []">&#8220;Free at last!&#8221; It&#8217;s been a long time coming, but it&#8217;s safe to say Kimmy Cakes will have a hot girl summer this year! Her legal battle to end her marriage to<a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/kanye-west-hires-new-lawyer-to-represent-him-in-dissolution-case-against-kim-kardashian/"> Kanye West</a>, Kim Kardashian-West is officially a free woman. According to <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/03/02/kim-kardashian-legally-single-from-kanye-west/">Page Six</a>, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Steve Cochran officially declared Kim single on Wednesday!</p>
<p>Reports state Kim appeared at the hearing via video conference from what looked like a closet and seemed &#8220;happy.&#8221; During the hearing, Judge Cochran asked Kim several questions under oath. One of them was if she wanted to go back to her maiden name and drop West, to which she replied, &#8220;Yes.&#8221; In addition, Kim was asked if there was a breakdown in the marriage, to which she also responded, &#8220;Yes.&#8221;</p>
<p>As we reported before the hearing, Kanye made a last-minute change with his legal team by dropping his lawyer and hiring attorney Samantha Spector. Spector represented Nicole Young in her high-profile divorce from Dr. Dre. Ye&#8217;s team said he had no issues with Kim getting her name back but was more concerned with ensuring his trust was protected.</p>
<p>The last-minute change didn&#8217;t seem to affect Kim&#8217;s attorney, Laura Wasser. She continued to fight for Kim by objecting to having her client&#8217;s trust frozen, arguing that the mogul uses the trust for her business. The judge sided with Kim&#8217;s team on the issue. However, it appears that custody of Kim and Ye&#8217;s four children, North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, will be discussed in 120 days as requested by Ye&#8217;s attorney.</p>
<p>Ye&#8217;s attorney stated, &#8220;There are many custody issues that need to be worked out,&#8221; but Kim&#8217;s attorney disagreed. As of now, the judge scheduled a status conference hearing on August 5th. Roommates, we will keep you posted on the outcome!</p>
