<p>Kim Kardashian, like many other parents, may at some point be faced with the challenges that come with raising not just children—but black children. The reality of the situation is that Kim and Kanye, along with his sisters-in-law Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, are really now raising strong black men and women.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p>That being said, Kimmy cakes shared that this reality is part of the very reason she’s now involved in social justice, and switching gears to have a career dealing with<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>prison reform and criminal justice.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m raising four black kids in this society and our system is so discriminatory against black and brown people,” she said in a new cover story with <a href="https://people.com/style/kim-kardashian-cher-naomi-campbell-model-cr-fashion-book-cover/"><strong>CR Fashion book, via PEOPLE.</strong></a> “I want to do as much as I can to make their lives easier.”<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p>She continues to say that she “never knew much about the system until I started to dig in,&#8221; adding, ”Once I learned and saw how many things were wrong, I really couldn&#8217;t stop.&#8221;</p>
<p>As we all know, Kim is currently studying to be a lawyer in California, one of four states that allows for taking the bar without a law degree. The stipulation is having to complete an apprenticeship which requires a student to sit in a practicing attorney&#8217;s office for 18 hours per week for four consecutive years.</p>
<p class="body-text">&#8220;My evolution on this is probably some combination of growing up, getting married, having kids, and my life being so different than what it was when I was starting out,&#8221; Kim says about her new journey. &#8220;Now, I feel like I have a duty to myself and to my children more than the public and I want to be a good role model for my kids.&#8221;</p>
