<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Kim Kardashian has decided to add context to her viral advice for women in business. In an exclusive interview with &#8216;Good Morning America,&#8217; Kim not only explained her advice, but apologized for causing offense. She made it crystal to co-anchor Robin Roberts that her advice was not to diminish or generalize working women.</p>
<h5 data-pm-slice="1 1 []"><strong>Kim&#8217;s Viral Advice</strong></h5>
<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">As previously reported, Kimmy <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/video-kim-kardashian-says-it-seems-like-nobody-wants-to-work-these-days-while-giving-advice-about-working-hard/">offered her words of wisdom</a> during a <em>Variety </em>feature. She followed up on Khloe&#8217;s commentary about things not coming easy, especially if they&#8217;re desired long-term.</p>
<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">&#8220;I have the best advice for women in business: Get your f***ing ass up and work,&#8221; Kim said. “It seems like nobody wants to work these days. You have to surround yourself with people that wanna work. Have a good work environment where everyone loves what they do. No toxic work environments and show up and do the work.”</p>
<p data-pm-slice="1 1 []">The backlash was swift as people, including celebrities like <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/jameela-jamil-says-nobody-needs-kim-kardashians-advice-on-success-and-work-ethic/">Jameela Jamil</a>, pointed out Kim&#8217;s privileged upbringing and connections. At the 2022 Oscars, co-host Regina Hall used Kim&#8217;s quote to joke with Best Supporting Actress nominee Dame Judi Dench. She said, &#8220;This is a quote from Kim Kardashian: &#8216;Work harder.&#8217; That&#8217;s what we need you to do.&#8221; You know how they say no one works harder than Kris Jenner? Early Monday morning, <em>GMA</em> released Kim&#8217;s apology and explanation as a preview to their April 6 interview with the Kardashian family.</p>
<h5 data-pm-slice="1 1 []"><strong>Kim Gives Context </strong></h5>

<p>&#8220;Well, that statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it,&#8221; Kim <a href="https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/culture/story/kim-kardashian-work-comments-women-context-83716669">said on </a><em>GMA.</em> &#8220;It became a sound bite really with no context. And that sound bite I came off the notion and the question right before which was after 20 years of being in the business you&#8217;re famous for being famous. And my whole tone and attitude changed with the previous question that went into that question about what advice would you give to women.&#8221;</p>
<p>Then, the entrepreneur offered a more layered explanation to her original advice. She explained that a social media presence and being on a reality show &#8220;does not mean overnight success.&#8221;</p>
<p>And you have to really work hard to get there, even if it might seem like it&#8217;s easy and that you can build a really successful business off of social media,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;And you can, if you put in a lot of really hard work.&#8221;</p>
<h5 data-pm-slice="1 1 []"><strong>The Apology </strong></h5>
<p>Moving beyond the message of working hard, Kim centered the audience she reportedly offended with her initial advice.</p>
<p>&#8220;It wasn&#8217;t a blanket statement towards women or to feel like I don&#8217;t respect the work or think that they don&#8217;t work hard.&#8221;</p>
<p>Kim continued, &#8220;I know that they do. It was taken out of context,&#8221; she added. &#8220;But I&#8217;m really sorry if it was received that way.&#8221;</p>
<p>Along with Kim&#8217;s interview, GMA&#8217;s special includes talks with Khloe, Kourtney and Kris Jenner. The family&#8217;s new show on Hulu premieres on April 14.</p>
