<p>Anyone that knows their hip-hop history knows just how significant Corey &#8220;C-Murder&#8221; Miller is when it comes to the rise of the southern hip-hop and the success of No Limit Records.</p>
<p>However, he was arrested for murder in 2002 and sentenced to life in prison in 2009. Ever since he has been serving his time at Louisiana State Penitentiary, and for years, his family and friends have been trying to prove his innocence so he could be released. In 2018, two witnesses recanted their testimonies claiming they were pressured to testify.</p>
<p>On Sunday, Kim Kardashian took to <em><a href="https://twitter.com/KimKardashian">Twitter</a></em> to show her support for the #FreeCoreyMiller movement, as she joined songstress Monica, who is also the ex of C-Murder, as well as Jessica Jackson and Erin Haney, as they work to get him freed.</p>
<p>Kim said, “On January 18, 2002, a tragedy occurred when a young man was killed. The next day Corey Miller was arrested for the murder. The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted.”</p>
<p>She continued, “Since his trial, witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict. True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and that Corey Miller be returned home to his kids.”</p>

<p>As many of you know, Kim has been using her platform to help those behind bars that are deserving to be free. As we <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/momolu-stewart-released-from-prison-after-23-years-with-help-of-kim-kardashian/">previously</a></em> reported, last year Momolu Stewart was freed following Kim&#8217;s help, as well as <em><a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/kim-kardashian-says-if-it-wasnt-for-kanye-supporting-trump-alice-johnson-would-still-be-in-jail/">Alice Johnson</a></em>, who was freed back in 2018.</p>
