No C-Section For Kim Kardashian!
Kim K-West and her husband Kanye have one of the most adorable toddlers in Hollywood and are about to welcome a baby boy around Christmas time!
Last week, however, the new mom-to-be voiced how nervous she was that her son had not moved into birthing position yet and that it may require her to get a C-section. “…my latest concern is that my baby is breech, meaning he’s in the wrong position for childbirth,” she wrote on her blog. Even after trying acupuncture, hypnosis and a slew of other remedies to get him to turn, she said, “His head is still up and it’s supposed to be down. He was supposed to turn by 32 weeks. So now, I will have to get a C-section. Or so I thought!”
Or, so she thought was right! It turns out that Kim had an extensive procedure done in a final attempt to turn Baby Yeezy around. She took to her website to update her fans on the steps that she and 3 doctors took in order to get her baby into his right position.
“This weekend, I checked into the hospital and underwent a procedure called an ECV (External Cephalic Version, or a Version), which is done to manually turn the baby from a breech position to a head-down position. They gave me an IV with medication to relax my uterus, and then three doctors attempted to work together to turn the baby.
There was a risk that my water might break or the baby’s heart rate could drop — in which case, an emergency C-section would then take place. I went in with my sisters and my husband. I was prepared for it all! Thankfully, neither happened, but it was hardly an easy experience. They don’t give you any pain medication, and let me tell you: This was soooooo painful. Probably more painful than childbirth. BUT it worked!!! My baby is in the right position and it feels so good to not have the stress of thinking I need a C-section.”
