<p>A disgraced former doctor for the Olympic gymnastics team, <strong>Larry Nassar</strong>, was allegedly stabbed in prison after telling inmates he wanted to watch &#8220;girls&#8221; play at Wimbledon while watching the matches on television, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/larry-nassar-gymnastics-coach-stabbing-4ab34526e30c09194e33ee2bd59eb652" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Associated Press</strong></a> reports.</p>
<p>Citing an anonymous source close to the situation, the outlet identified the inmate who reportedly stabbed Nassar as 49-year-old <strong>Shane McMillan</strong>.</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Suspected Stabbing Inmate Says Attack Was Prompted By Doctor&#8217;s Lewd Comments</h3>
<p>On Sunday, McMillan <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/larry-nassar-stabbed-florida-prison/?_gl=1*rduho8*_ga*MTQyNzYxNTg1NC4xNjg5MTg2NDYx*_up*MQ.." target="_blank" rel="noopener">allegedly stabbed Nassar</a>. He was stabbed twice in the neck, twice in the back, and six times in the chest, <strong>Joe Rojas</strong>, president of Local 506 — representing employees at the Federal Correctional Complex Coleman — confirmed to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/larry-nassar-was-stabbed-multiple-florida-federal-prison-union-officia-rcna93369" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>NBC News</strong></a>.</p>
<p>McMillan reportedly attacked Nassar after the former U.S. gymnastics team doctor commented on wanting to see &#8220;girls&#8221; playing in the Wimbledon women’s match, the inmate told prison officials.</p>
<p>The assault ended after four other inmates intervened and pulled McMillan off Nassar, according to the AP.</p>

<p>McMillan had previously been convicted of assaulting a correctional officer back in 2006. He was also accused of trying to fatally stab an inmate at a supermax prison in Colorado in 2011, the <a href="https://www.chieftain.com/story/news/2015/07/29/inmates-get-more-time-for/9393316007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Pueblo Chieftain</strong></a> reported in 2015.</p>
<p>The federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed an inmate was assaulted at Coleman at 2:35 p.m. Sunday. Prison staff provided life-saving care before Nassar was rushed to a nearby hospital for further treatment.</p>
<p>The 59-year-old also suffered a collapsed lung. However, he is in stable condition as of Wednesday (Jul. 12), officials say.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">Second Time Nassar Has Been Attacked In Prison, Jail Suffering Staff Shortage</h3>
<p>The <a href="https://apnews.com/article/larry-nassar-gymnastics-stabbed-prison-98c5ca2052f0ebce4a785f5fa2b2ede2" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Associated Press</strong></a> reports that the prison where Nassar is housed has been experiencing a staffing shortage.</p>
<p>Both officers assigned to Nassar’s unit reportedly have been working mandated overtime shifts due to a lack of jail guards.</p>

<p>In 2018, Nassar was attacked in prison after being placed in the general population, as reported by <a href="https://dev.theshaderoom.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=129485&;action=edit" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>The Shade Room</strong></a>.</p>
<p>Earlier that same year, a judge sentenced Nassar to up to 175 years in prison.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s accused of sexually assaulting female gymnasts and Olympic gold medalists. Several of his victims include high-profile Olympians such as <strong>McKayla Maroney</strong>, <strong>Aly Raisman</strong>, <strong>Gabby Douglas</strong>, and <strong>Simone Biles</strong>.</p>
<p>Authorities accused Nassar of molesting at least 40 girls and women over 14 months.</p>
<p>He is currently serving time for convictions in both state and federal courts.</p>
