<p><strong>Ronda Dixon</strong>, an attorney who unsuccessfully tried to join <strong>Tory Lanez</strong>&#8216;s legal team and argue for his release, is accusing his lawyers of not having the rapper&#8217;s best interests at heart.</p>
<p>She’s also arguing against his “unconstitutional confinement.&#8221; Additionally, she says he should receive bail, as he allegedly hasn’t seen sunlight in “four months.”</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">Ronda Dixon Says Tory Lanez&#8217;s Attorneys Are &#8220;Only Concerned About Getting Paid&#8221;</h3>
<p>In a new report from <a href="https://www.legalaffairsandtrials.com/p/new-attorney-plans-to-seek-tory-lanezs" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><em>Legal Affairs and Trials with Meghann Cuniff</em></a>, reporter <strong>Meghann Cuniff </strong>she detailed her chat with Dixon, which went down just a day before it was decided that she would <em>not </em>serve as Lanez&#8217;s lawyer.</p>
<p>Dixon noted that Tory agreed to a substitution of counsel late last month, and she sought to replace attorney <strong>Matthew Barhoma</strong> to work alongside Lanez&#8217;s other lawyer, <strong>Jose Baez</strong>.</p>
<p>However, Dixon then went IN and proclaimed that she and Baez &#8220;have some serious issues&#8221; over his handling of Tory Lanez&#8217;s case.</p>
<p>In fact, she straight-up accused Baez and Barhoma of &#8220;taking advantage&#8221; of the &#8220;FeRRis WhEEL&#8221; artist.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;These guys are just taking advantage of [Lanez]. They&#8217;ve had him sign powers of attorneys. They&#8217;re acting on his behalf. … They&#8217;re not really asking him what he wants.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Dixon went on to declare,<strong><em> &#8220;What he’s paid his attorneys so far is unreal. It’s unimaginable. They were only concerned about getting paid.&#8221;</em> </strong>Oop!</p>
<p>Finally, she blasted the attorneys for trying to &#8220;cover up their own ineptitude,&#8221; though Barhoma reacted by declaring, &#8220;None of it is true.&#8221;</p>

<h3 style="text-align: center;">The Lawyer Hoped To Fight Against Tory&#8217;s &#8220;Unconstitutional&#8221; Confinement</h3>
<p>However, the grievances didn&#8217;t end there, as Ronda Dixon also called out the &#8220;unconstitutional nature of [Tory&#8217;s] confinement.&#8221;</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;Because Mr. Peterson has viable, meritorious post-conviction litigation, this court should award bail. The unconstitutional nature of his confinement provides ample justification. &#8230; This court should admit him bail within the court’s discretion.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>In support of this stance, Dixon explained how — while meeting with Tory Lanez in jail — he was <em><strong>&#8220;totally despondent.&#8221; </strong></em>She also recalled him saying he &#8220;wanted to go to state prison,&#8221; as he&#8217;d at least be able to socialize.</p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;His eyes were black. He was totally despondent. He told me he wanted to go to state prison. I said, &#8216;You want to go to state prison? Why?&#8217; He said, &#8216;At least I&#8217;ll be able to go out in the yard and talk to people.'&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>She further detailed how the terms of Lanez&#8217;s confinement are &#8220;doing something to his psyche.&#8221; Tory also noted that he <strong><em>&#8220;hadn&#8217;t seen daylight in four months.&#8221;</em></strong></p>
<blockquote><p>&#8220;He has to be shackled and he has to be accompanied by a sheriff and two deputies to move. He told me he hadn&#8217;t seen daylight in four months, that they didn&#8217;t take him to the day yard at all. That&#8217;s doing something to his psyche.&#8221;</p></blockquote>
<p>Despite Ronda Dixon&#8217;s efforts, Judge <strong>David Herriford</strong> instead ruled that attorney <strong>Ed Welbourne</strong> would substitute for Matthew Barhoma.</p>
<p style="text-align: center;">Tory Lanez is slated to be sentenced on Aug. 7.</p>
